Forum Topic: Canadian Pharmacy Lasix Pills - Safe & Effective?

Posted by: HealthyHikerDate/Time: March 15, 2023 at 9:47 AM

Hi everyone,

I've been dealing with some swelling and fluid retention issues. My doctor prescribed me Lasix (furosemide) but Im considering getting it from a Canadian pharmacy because of the cost savings. Has anyone tried this route? Is it safe?

Hello HealthyHiker,

Thank you for reaching out with your concern. Id be happy to provide some insight. When considering purchasing medication from a Canadian pharmacy, it's important to ensure the pharmacy is legitimate and adheres to stringent quality control measures.

Can you tell me more about why you're looking into this option? Are there specific concerns or benefits that are driving your decision?

Hi DrMedic,

Thanks for the prompt response. The main reason is cost; my prescription was quite expensive through a local pharmacy. Ive heard that Canadian pharmacies often offer significant savings without compromising on quality. Are there any red flags to watch out for when choosing a Canadian pharmacy?

Great questions, HealthyHiker.

When you're looking into purchasing from a Canadian pharmacy, there are several things to consider:

  1. Legitimacy: Make sure the pharmacy is licensed by a recognized regulatory body. The Canadian International Pharmacy Association (CIPA) and Verified Internet Pharmacy Practice Sites (VIPPS) accreditation can be good indicators.

  2. Quality Control: Ensure that medications are sourced directly from manufacturers or authorized distributors to maintain quality.

  3. Prescription Requirements: A legitimate pharmacy will require a valid prescription for controlled substances like Lasix.

  4. Customer Service: Good customer service is critical, especially when dealing with medication queries and concerns.

Would you feel comfortable providing more details about the specific Canadian pharmacy you are considering?

Hi DrMedic,

Thanks for the detailed points. The pharmacy Im looking into is called "CanadaMedSupply." They have a VIPPS certification and seem to offer competitive prices. Does that sound like something you would consider safe?

Hello HealthyHiker,

Having VIPPS certification is indeed a strong indicator of legitimacy and quality standards. However, its always prudent to do your own research:

  • Visit Their Website: Look for contact information (phone number, email), return policies, and customer reviews.

  • Check Pharmacy Credentials: Verify that the pharmacy has proper licensing from Health Canada or another reputable regulatory body.

  • Contact Information Verification: Try reaching out through their provided phone number or email to ensure they are responsive.

If all these checks out positively for CanadaMedSupply, it should be a safe and effective option. However, always consult with your healthcare provider before making the switch to ensure there are no potential risks specific to your medical history.

Would you like any additional advice on how to verify their credentials or further steps to take?
