In 2001 after a public selection procedure, MBNS – International, Ltd. became a sole owner of Královopolská kovárna (Forge) Ltd., a plant which had been active in the filed of industrial forging since 1889.
The forge specialises in die stampings, separately forged pieces, moulded pieces and, to a limited extent, in hand-made forging. The products of this forge are used in both light and heavy chemical industries, in nuclear, automobile and shipping industry and for the production of mining machines.
The forge produces its products from the carbon and stainless steel and holds the system certification ISO 9001 and the product certificate TŰV. It is further authorized to deal in the field of nuclear power engineering and to produce its products under ASME CODE. The forged pieces can be supplied together with heat treatment, surface finishing and a certificate of destructive and non-destructive tests.
The forge is currently offering the following assortment of goods:
- rotary die stampings with the weight from 2 to 60 kilos
- separately forged rotary pieces with the maximum dimensions Ø 1 500 x 300 mm
- bars, round stocks and axles up to the weight of 2 500 kilos
- separately forged pieces with the dimensions of 2 500 x 300 x 300 mm and a maximum weight of 800 kilos
- high-pressure moulded bottoms the diameter up to 600 mm, compensators, caps, spherical bottoms, rings, clamps, etc.
The production capacity of MBNS Forge is 8 000 tonnes per year, while some 4 000 tonnes of this output covers the production of the separately forged pieces and another 4 000 tonnes the production of the die stampings.
About 60 % of the production is sold in the domestic market. The rest is exported to our foreign customers, especially to Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Holland, and Slovakia.
Since the takeover by MBNS – International, Ltd. the forge has undergone a complete reconstruction. A new machining shop was added to it in order to enable the production and repairs of tools (dies), machining of forged pieces and, last but not least, the cooperation. In addition to that, a compressor station was built and a capital repair of the 1000-tonne press and other key tools and machinery was carried out.
On 1. 1. 2005 the name of the forge was changed to MBNS Kovárna, Ltd.
